This policy explains:

  • what daemn ("daemn", "we") collects when you use daemn.one and the daemn apps reached from it, Gather among them;
  • what we do with it, and who else sees it;
  • what you can do about it.

daemn is a brand of Mobius Ventures, LLC, a Georgia company now being formed. Once it is formed, this policy will name it as the business responsible for your information.

It applies to everyone who uses daemn in the United States. daemn is run from the US and stores its data in the US.

The short version

  • We collect what you give us and what the apps need to work.
  • We do not sell or rent your personal information, show you ads, or track you across other sites. daemn has no analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
  • We do not use your information to train AI models, and neither does our AI provider.
  • When you use an AI feature, what you type is sent to Anthropic, which runs the Claude model, so that it can answer. Nothing that names you goes with it.
  • We share information only with the few service providers that run daemn for us (listed below), and only as needed.
  • You can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete your information at [daemn256+privacy@gmail.com](mailto:daemn256+privacy@gmail.com).

1. What we collect

When you sign in.

  • We use Auth0 (by Okta) for sign-in, so your password or social login stays with Auth0, never with us.
  • From Auth0 we receive and keep your email address and name, whether your email is verified, and an account identifier. We also record when you last signed in.
  • If you set a different display name or a contact email, or upload a profile picture, we keep those too. Removing your picture deletes it.

Your spaces and who is in them.

  • We keep which spaces (households, teams) you belong to, your role in each, and which apps each space uses.
  • If you invite someone, we keep the email address you invited, so we can match it when they sign in.
  • If you ask to join an app, we keep the request, any note you write, and the decision.

What you put in the apps. The apps keep what you create in them, so they can show it back to you and, in the apps made for sharing (CRM, CoLab chat, the help desk), to the people you share a space with. Gather is private to you, even from others in your space:

  • Gather: recipes (including the web address or file name you imported from), meal plans, shopping checks, your measurement preference, and your assistant conversations (section 3).
  • Finance: the accounts you describe, including the custodian's name and an account number if you type one; portfolios; positions (quantity and cost basis); research topics; notes; and theses. daemn does not connect to your bank or brokerage. Everything in Finance is what you enter.
  • CRM: leads, referrers and activity notes. These are usually about other people (section 9).
  • CoLab chat: messages and their earlier edits, reactions, attachments and how far you have read. If you allow notifications, we also keep your browser's push subscription.
  • Help desk: tickets and replies.
  • Sharing: business cards (public at their link), showcases, and the share links you hand out, including when each link was last opened and how many times.

Records we keep about your use.

  • Which version of the Terms and of this policy you accepted, and when.
  • When you download a Bring your own AI kit: which kit, which version, and when.
  • Technical records. Our servers keep traces, metrics and logs so we can run and fix daemn.
    • These carry your account identifier, but not your name, email address or IP address, and are kept for 7 days.
    • We use your IP address in memory to stop abuse (rate limiting), and do not store it.

From visitors who are not signed in. If you ask a showcase's owner for access, we keep the name, email and note you send, so the owner can decide. If the owner declines, we erase them 90 days later.

2. How we use it

We use it:

  • to run the apps, and to show your content to you and to the people you share it with;
  • to sign you in, keep accounts and spaces secure, and stop abuse;
  • to send the emails the apps need (section 6);
  • to answer you when you write to us;
  • to keep the records the law expects of us, such as which Terms you accepted.

We do not:

  • use your information for advertising;
  • sell it, or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising;
  • build profiles to make decisions about you;
  • use it to train AI models.

3. The AI features (Claude, by Anthropic)

Some features are powered by Claude, a model made by Anthropic, PBC:

FeatureWhat is sent to AnthropicWhat daemn keeps
Gather: Ask (the assistant)What you type, the name of the page you are on, and the last turns of the conversation (up to 12)The conversation (your words and the replies) until you clear it
Gather: read a pasted recipeThe recipe text you pasteThe recipe you save
Gather: fix an ingredient lineThat one ingredient lineThe fix, only if you accept it
Finance: ask about a topicYour question, the topic's title and summary, and your latest notes and theses on itNothing
  • Nothing that identifies you is sent: no name, email, account or space identifier. But what you type can identify you if you type it, so don't put anything into an AI feature that you would not want a service provider to process.
  • Anthropic does not train its models on what daemn sends. It deletes it within 30 days, with two exceptions: content its safety systems flag may be kept for up to 2 years for safety review, and the law may require keeping something longer.
  • Speech. daemn does not record or upload audio. If you dictate, your device turns your speech into text, and only the text reaches daemn.
  • Your assistant history is kept until you clear it. Clear history in the assistant deletes all of it at once.
  • AI answers can be wrong; see the Terms, section 6.
  • How the AI features work sets out the same facts for Gather.

4. Who else sees your information

WhoWhyWhat
Microsoft Azure (US, Central region)Hosts daemn's servers, databases and file storageEverything daemn stores
Auth0, by Okta (US)Sign-inYour sign-in details and profile
Anthropic (US)Runs the AI featuresWhat you send to an AI feature (section 3)
Resend (US)Delivers daemn's emailYour email address and the email's content
Your browser's push service (Google, Mozilla or Apple)Delivers the notifications you turned onThe sender's name and why you were notified, never the message text

Each of these providers may use the information only to provide its service to us. We may also disclose information:

  • when the law requires it;
  • to protect people or daemn from harm or fraud;
  • to someone who takes over daemn, who must keep this policy's promises.

Other people in your spaces see what you put in the shared apps; nobody else sees your Gather recipes, plans or lists. Anyone with a share link sees what that link opens. When you ask Gather to import a recipe from a web page, or post a link in chat, daemn's server fetches that page rather than your browser, so the site sees daemn, not you.

5. Cookies and browser storage

daemn uses no advertising or analytics cookies and no tracking pixels. It uses only:

  • your browser's local storage, to keep you signed in (Auth0's tokens) and to remember small preferences such as your last space and your language;
  • a cookie when you open a share link, to remember that the link let you in.

Because none of this tracks you, there is nothing to opt out of; clearing your browser's storage signs you out. We honour Global Privacy Control and "Do Not Track" signals in the only way that applies: we never sell or share your information.

6. Email

daemn sends only emails about something you did, or something that needs your action. Examples are an answer to a request to join an app, a help-desk ticket update, and a decision on an access request. Auth0 sends the emails that verify your sign-in address.

We send no newsletters or marketing. If that changes, we will ask you first, and every such email will carry an unsubscribe link and our postal address.

7. How long we keep it

  • Your account and app content: while your account exists. When you delete something in an app, it is deleted, with one exception: chat keeps a deleted message's earlier edits, hidden from everyone.
  • Assistant conversations: until you clear them, or your account is deleted.
  • Technical records: 7 days.
  • Declined access requests from visitors: 90 days.
  • Acceptance records (which Terms you accepted): as long as we need them to show what you agreed to, even after your account is closed.
  • Backups: our database provider keeps short-term backups for disaster recovery. Deleted data leaves them as they expire.

Deleting your account. Write to [daemn256+privacy@gmail.com](mailto:daemn256+privacy@gmail.com) from the email on your account. Within 30 days we delete your account and what you created in every app, except the acceptance records above.

8. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live in the US, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy in a portable format;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • tell you who we have disclosed it to.

How to ask.

  • Write to [daemn256+privacy@gmail.com](mailto:daemn256+privacy@gmail.com) from the email on your account.
  • We answer within 45 days, and tell you if we need up to 45 more.
  • If we say no, we will say why. You can appeal by replying, and we answer appeals within 60 days. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state's attorney general.
  • You can ask through an authorized agent. We may check the request with you.

We will never treat you differently for using these rights.

State laws. Several states give these rights by law. Most of those laws do not yet apply to a service of daemn's size, but we give the same rights to everyone. Because we do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or profile people to make decisions about them, there is nothing to opt out of under those laws. Three states call for more:

StateWhat its law asksHow daemn meets it
ConnecticutConsent before processing sensitive data; say whether data trains AI modelsSensitive data (such as health details) is processed only when you enter it, to do what you asked. Nothing trains AI models.
Washington, NevadaA consumer health data noticeOur Consumer Health Data Notice
TexasNo sale of sensitive data without consentWe sell no data at all

9. Information about other people

CRM, and apps like it, let you record details about people who are not daemn users: names, phone numbers, emails and notes.

  • You decide what to record, and you are responsible for having a fair reason to keep it.
  • daemn stores it for you and for nobody else.
  • If you believe daemn holds information about you that someone else entered, write to [daemn256+privacy@gmail.com](mailto:daemn256+privacy@gmail.com) and we will help.

10. Health-related information (Gather)

You may put information in Gather that relates to health, for example that a recipe is for someone with a nut allergy or on a medical diet.

  • We use it only to provide what you ask for: we keep it, show it back to you (only you can see your Gather content), and send it to Anthropic only if you put it into an AI feature.
  • We never sell it, and we never infer health conditions from what you cook.
  • You can delete it at any time.

Our Consumer Health Data Notice gives the details.

11. Children

daemn is for adults: you must be 18 or older to have an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child, we will delete it. If you think a child has given us information, write to us.

12. Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is stored with Microsoft Azure. Only daemn's operator can reach it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

13. Changes to this policy

  • If we change how we use your information in a way that matters, we will show you the new version and ask you to accept it before you keep using the apps.
  • We will never start using information we already hold in a materially different way without your agreement.
  • We publish small changes (wording, clarity) without asking you again.
  • Every version stays readable on this page.
